The choir’s repertoire includes everything from medieval to contemporary and experimental music. Ballet Jorgen - Cinderella

March 12 & 13, 2015

This ballet by Bengt Jorgen is an innovative take on the classic fairy tale. Jorgen's choreography balances the fairy tale elements of the story with a contemporary treatment of Cinderella and her family relationships. Returning to the original Russian tradition of having women perform the roles of the stepsisters, Jorgen builds a more realistic and human look at Cinderella and her circumstances, and then uses these scenes to both counterpoint and highlight the magical aspects of the story. Ballet Jorgen Canada's Cinderella is a classical ballet with modern, dramatic sensibilities.

March 31, 2015

Calgary-based husband and wife duo, Denis & Lynae Dufresne formed PEAR in 2006 after headlining international fiddle sensation Barrage. PEAR crosses modern country with folk sensibilities. The group has won 3 CCMA Awards and was named the 2013 Group of the Year from the Association of Country Music in Alberta. Their hit single “This Ain’t a Love Song” is an inspiring song that recently won the Country category in the International Songwriting Competition, and has aired on CMT Canada. PEAR released a fresh new album in spring 2015.

Prairie Debut presents Ensemble Caprice

April 30, 2015

Under the artistic direction of Matthias Maute and Sophie Larivière, Ensemble Caprice is renowned for its innovative interpretations of baroque music and has received national and international acclaim for more than twenty years. Their CD, Gloria! Vivaldi’s Angels won Canada’s prestigious 2009 JUNO Award. It is Salsa Baroque (Analekta, 2010), which is the program they will be bringing to your communities in the 2014/15 season. Salsa Baroque is the music of Latin America and Spain in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. Gems from this spectacular musical era will be performed on instruments that were common at the time: flutes and recorders, baroque guitar, violoncello and various percussion instruments.

His new album is certain to draw comparisons to Josh Groban, and it's one that the confident Cody doesn't shy away from.
